The Nominating Process

Any American Steamship Company employee can make nominations for Outstanding Mariner. Submissions must be prepared on the official nominating form and the form must contain all required signatures. Nomination forms may be obtained from the Captain or the Chief Engineer onboard your vessel. Office employees can request a nominating form directly from the Director of Human Resources.

Outstanding Mariners

The Outstanding Mariner program is our way of recognizing shipboard and office employees who have distinguished themselves through meritorious service. An Outstanding Mariner Award acknowledges an employee whose performance exemplifies the spirit of dedication, commitment to excellence and results-oriented drive that have been the heritage of American Steamship Company. The significance of the award is enhanced by the fact that recipients must first be nominated by their peers.

Please join us in expressing our sincere appreciation to all of our Outstanding Mariners. We extend a special thanks to Ron Carter – Director, Purchasing, whose inspired suggestion led to the inauguration of this program in 1983.
